Student Representative Council

The Forest High School has an active Student Representative Council, which is elected annually from the student body. Representatives are from each year group, our Captains elected by theirs peers and staff. The SRC encourages the exchange of ideas about school activities and helps organize school activities. Promotion of school spirit and pride and communicating student achievements is a major role of the members.

2008 was a busy and rewarding year for the SRC and 2009activities are already underway. The annual camp at Vision Valley was a great opportunity for our newly elected SRC members get to know each other, build on their teamwork and leadership skills and plan for the year ahead.

The SRC organizes several Mufti days during the year to raise money for the school and charities, such Red Nose Day and Jeans for Genes Day. The whole school supports these events and we are thankful for the support and money raised. SRC members also assist at various school events including Sports Awards Night, Open Night, School BBQ's and Orientation Day. 2005 saw the inaugural Trivia Night happen in May, raising funds for the school. Due to the great success of this night the SRC will again host this night in Term 3. After the success of the Multicultural Day in 2007 we hope to host another ispiring day later this year.

Members are also involved on committees throughout the school, such as the Uniform and Canteen Committees. SRC members also represent the students at School Council meetings each month and attend District SRC meetings and Youth Councils.
